    The John Dory

I ate at the John Dory last night. We sat in the "fish room" at the table that Beyonce sat at the night previous. She didn't eat anything. Yes, I asked.

Ruth Reichl arrived while we were eating dessert. In my opinion, she is way better than Beyonce.

Service was great, meal even better.

    What we had:

A bottle and a quartino of a delicious, crisp Vermentino from the Maremma region.

Oysters - mix of west and east coast, Kumamoto and Saint Simon

Sauteed John Dory with Salsa Verde (a hit at the table)

Pan Roasted Cod with Mantecato, chile and arthichoke chips (my personal favorite)

Sea Brim ala plancha with bacon and fennel

    Sweet potatoes and marrow

Jensen's temptation - a potato gratin with sardines

The John Dory sundae (vanilla & choco malt ice cream, pb sauce)

The Eccles Cake: a blackberry tart with a stilton cheese

Can't wait to go back next week and see how it holds up.

Fish has achieved health food status due to research that shows eating fish lowers the risk of heart disease. Public health agencies have recommended eating fish for several years. But new research continues to support additional links between diets that include fish and various measures of heart health.
