Bon Appétit Aug 2009 and what's annoying about it

The cover of the August 2009 issue of Bon Ap magazine shows a pimped out turkey burger on a ciabatta roll. I actually said ciabatta out loud when I took the magazine out of the mailbox. Just a fun word to say sometimes.

Yet the "cover recipe" inside calls for a sesame seed bun. So what else about the recipe wasn't asthetically pleasing enough to put on the burger when they shot it? I like consistencey and accuracy in my recipes, especially if you are going to accompany that recipe with a photo. I get the whole food styling, gotta sell magazines thing...cover shots are always retouched. But to me, this is different. Thoughts?
